Rogers Free Library Announces Opening for a Trustee

BRISTOL, RI-The Rogers Free Library is searching for a Trustee to serve on the Board of the Library beginning in January 2021. Terms of service for Trustees are three years with an option to renew for an additional three years. The role of a Trustee is to be a “legal guardian and custodian of the library.” Trustees determine and adopt policies relative to operations, programs, and materials selections; select a director if the need should arise; assist in the preparation of the annual budget and work to secure that funding for the library, and encourage ongoing staff training. As a municipal library, Trustees are bound by the Rhode Island Code of Ethics and the regulations of the Ethics Commission.

The Rogers Free Library is currently looking for applicants who have skills in any of the following: management, marketing, law, human resources, and who are library users who have experienced and enjoyed the Rogers Free Library.

A letter of intent with CV should be sent to the Rogers Free Library, 525 Hope Street, Bristol, RI 02809 to the attention of Elizabeth Brito, Chair of the Trustees.  The closing date for applications is November 20, 2020.
