Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant (Part-time)

Scope of Work:
This is a para-professional, part-time position within the Administration of the library. The position works under the direct supervision of the Library Director. Examples of work include but are not limited to:
• Prepare and modify memos, emails, invoices, receipts, thank you notes and any other forms of correspondence;
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and other reports as needed;
• Update and maintain sick and vacation accrual time sheets for employees;
• Process invoices and maintain vendor information (digital and paper file maintenance);
• Maintain employee contact and personnel information;
• Associated clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and preparing outgoing mail;
• Process staff supply requests;
• Maintain office supply inventories;
• Coordinate preventive and acute maintenance of office equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience:
• Computer skills with appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite software helpful;
• Demonstrated experience with accounting and payroll software;
• Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping;
• Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment;
• High school diploma or GED, with a strong and proven track record in office administration.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in public library or town financial administration;
• Professional education, training, or experience in bookkeeping and office administration.

Physical Demands:
Work may occasionally involve walking, bending, squatting, reaching, stretching, and traveling outside of the Library if necessary. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Environment:
Work is performed primarily in an indoor office setting at the Library. Must be able to concentrate and focus during periods of ambient noise, stress, interruptions, and the occasional temperature fluctuation. The Rogers Free Library is a friendly, collegial workplace in an expertly maintained and comfortable property.

Compensation:
Hourly rate is between $20 and $22 per hour based on experience, 8 hours per week with some flexibility on scheduling.
