Record Availability
Land Evidence records date back to 1680. A computerized index is available to the public for review from 1986 – present and actual documents can be viewed from 2005 – present.
Real Estate Recordings
Real estate recordings are accepted for recording in person, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. or by mail:

*Please Note: Effective April 1, 2007, all deeds must have the sale price contained within the document or language to the effect that the transfer is not a sale.
Returning Documents
All original documents are returned after the time of recording. All mail recordings must include a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of original recorded documents. Checks should be made payable to the Town of Bristol.
Requesting Copies
A copy/certified copy of a recorded document may be obtained either in person or by written request, accompanied by the appropriate fee (per Rhode Island state law, $1.50 per page and $3 for certification) and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
