Commissions

Established by the Town Charter, municipal commissions serve an important regulatory role within the community. Members of these public bodies are appointed by and report to the Bristol Town Council.

Volunteer

Bristol has many advisory boards, commissions, and committees that provide opportunities for direct involvement in local government by residents. Bristol depends upon residents who are willing to lend their time and expertise to our community by volunteering to serve on our many boards, commissions, and committees.

Bristol’s Onboard System allows residents to familiarize themselves with the roles and responsibilities of the boards, view current members, view vacancies, and apply to openings.

If you are interested in seeking an appointment to a particular board, commission, or committee, please fill out an application and identify your skills, talents, and experience. Please be certain to identify committees of interest by checking the appropriate box(es) within.

Many boards, commissions, and committees are ongoing in nature, while some may be temporary ad-hoc committees created to accomplish a specific task.

The Town recognizes and celebrates the diversity of Bristol and encourages all individuals to apply to serve.

Onboard

Bristol’s Onboard System allows residents view the roles and responsibilities of each town board, view current members, view vacancies, view appointment terms, and apply to openings.
