The Town of Bristol’s Department of Community Development invites residents to participate in a guided 2-hour Hazard Mitigation Walking Tour, starting at the Bristol Maritime Center, Saturday, October 30, 10:00 a.m. This tour will focus on the potential for coastal flooding along Bristol’s waterfront and invite observations or concerns related to specific locations in the town where natural hazards (flooding from rain or high tides/storm surge, wind, snow, drought, etc.) present safety challenges. The tour will build upon the October 21st kick-off meeting (7pm at the Maritime Center) and offer a visual connection to flood risk from the state of RI’s online mapper, STORMTOOLS, that illustrates risk from coastal storms and sea level rise. The walk will be accessible and not strenuous, and staff will be on-hand to discuss observations and answer questions.
