Town Beach and Sports Complex

The Bristol Town Beach and Sports Complex is located adjacent to Colt State Park on Asylum Rd., where you can enjoy a relaxing day that includes a picturesque view of Narragansett Bay and magnificent sunsets. Amenities include picnic tables, several varieties of stately shade trees, walking/bike trails, a playground, and a clean, sandy beach that offers the perfect reprieve from the heat of summer (water-shoes or aqua socks are recommended for swimming). Restrooms and outdoor showers (seasonal) are available and a pavilion is available for rent.

The sports complex offers baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, two multi-purpose fields, tennis and basketball courts, a street hockey rink, a bocce court, horseshoe pit, skate park, and restrooms.

Parking

Parking is available year-round, but a parking fee is charged beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Season passes are available for purchase at the beach entrance booth on weekends, beginning Memorial Day weekend, and daily starting June 19. Seasonal beach passes are issued only to Bristol residents and families within the BWRSD.

The fee for a resident season pass is $20 per vehicle and proof of residency is required.

Season passes are not transferable between vehicles.

Bristol Senior Citizens, Active Military, and Veterans receive a FREE beach pass.

Town Ordinances

  • Dogs, alcoholic beverages, charcoal, smoking, vaping, bonfires, and fire pits are NOT permitted on any sports field, in any picnic or parking area, or on the beach. This ordinance is strictly enforced.
  • No tents, drones, motorized vehicles, marijuana, illegal substances, or foul language. 
  • Failure to follow the Town Beach and Sports Complex rules of conduct may result in immediate removal from the area.
  • The Town Beach area closes at 7:00 p.m. or earlier at the discretion of the Director, Assistant Director, or Beach Manager.
