Public Works

The Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of public facilities in the town as well as an array of town services. Key services managed by the Department of Public Works include street improvements, street cleaning, snow removal, town sewer, and storm drainage system management, public property maintenance, and the collection and disposal of garbage and recyclables.

Pink Bag Initiative

The Town of Bristol is pleased to partner with Simple Recycling to offer the Pink Bag Initiative. Started in 2018, residents can now have their old clothing/textiles recycled curbside! Simply place items inside the Simple Recycling Pink Bag and put them out with your trash receptacles. Bags are available for pick-up at the DPW.

Transfer Station

Bristol’s Transfer Station is a waste deposit site where rubbish and recyclables are processed prior to being moved.
