Economic Development, Affordable Housing, Public Services
The Town of Bristol supports economic development initiatives, affordable housing projects, and public service activities through the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. The CDBG program is intended to develop and support activities primarily for low/moderate income persons (those earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income).
Competitive Grants
Fund for Civic Activity
The Town of Bristol and Roger Williams University created the Fund for Civic Activities (FCA) in order to support a broad range of projects and services proposed by individuals or non-profit organizations that work toward enhancing the civic experience in the Town of Bristol.
Discretionary Grants
Tourism Partnership Fund
Each year, the Town of Bristol supports local business activities through its tourism partnership fund.
Annual Town Budget General Requests
Local community and non-profit organizations can requests a grant through the Town of Bristol’s annual budget process. Requests are reviewed and approved by the Bristol Town Council.
State Grants

Innovate Rhode Island Fund
The Innovate RI Fund provides grants to assist local entrepreneurs and high-growth start-ups defray the costs of applying for federal SBIR/STTR grants, match Phase I and Phase II awards and hire interns.
